Email Advice
When contacting us for advice by email please provide as much detail as possible. It is advisable that the subject line of your message contains the phrase 'email advice' to avoid it being missed amongst the daily emails.
The advice we provide through this service is based on the information you give us. The law can be complicated, so sometimes we will only be able to give you a general answer. In these cases, we will also give you the details of other advice centres where you can access more help. If your enquiry is complicated or unusual, we may suggest you seek specialist legal advice.

Response times
We will try and respond to your enquiry as soon as possible and we aim to give a response within 10 working days. In the meantime you may wish to try the link to the Citizens Advice www.adviceguide.org.uk for practical, reliable, up-to-date information including frequently asked questions in English, Welsh, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Urdu and Chinese on a wide range of topics and factsheets to download.
If you don't find an answer we are happy to try and deal with your enquiry by e-mail however we only have the resources to deal with enquiries from people living in the Manchester City Council boundaries. If you do not live in the boundary we would suggest you consider contacting your own local Citizens Advice Bureau.

Email security
For most people, the security risks of using the Internet and email are minimal. It is extremely unlikely that unauthorised people will intercept your email. If you are concerned about other people having access to your email account at home or at work, you may wish to set up a separate web-based email account for your personal use.
